How to add Google Calendar to the Windows 11 taskbar clock
Put Google Calendar within reach of the clock in Windows 11 by adding its .ics address to Glassline Settings, under Control Center, Calendars. Glassline's menu bar clock opens Today, where the subscribed events appear next to your own.
Open Windows' calendar first
- Click the date and time on the Windows taskbar. The built-in calendar opens so you can check dates.
This Windows panel is a simple date view without an event editor.
Add your Google Calendar
Subscribed calendars in Glassline are optional and off until you add one. Start with the calendar whose events you want beside your own.
- Install Glassline from the Microsoft Store. Open it. The clock you will use is in Glassline's menu bar at the top of the screen.
- Copy the calendar's address. In Google Calendar, look for the secret address in iCal format. Keep that .ics address ready to paste into Glassline.
- Open Glassline Settings. Right-click the menu bar and choose Glassline Settings. Choose Control Center, then find Calendars.
- Paste the .ics address into Calendars. Glassline reads the calendar and shows its events in Today alongside the events you add yourself.
- Choose its name, colour and reminder. Each subscribed calendar can have its own. Use a name such as Family or Work to make the calendar easy to recognize.
See events from the clock
- Click the menu bar clock. Today opens with your calendar. Look for the subscribed events beside your own events in this Glassline panel.
- Add an event of your own. Click the plus under the calendar. Your own events can happen once or repeat every week, month or year.
Glassline only reads subscribed calendars. To change one of their events, use the calendar's own app. The name, colour and reminder you choose in Glassline help you arrange how you see that calendar in Today.
Keep the address private
Anyone with a private calendar address can read that calendar, so treat it like a password. Keep it out of messages and screenshots you share. When showing someone your setup, show the events in Today and keep the address hidden.
