Privacy

The short version: Glassline has no accounts, no analytics and no ads. The only thing it sends anywhere is the location you choose for the weather, to the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, so it can show you the forecast.

What leaves your PC

• Weather. If you set a weather location, Glassline sends its coordinates (rounded to about 10 metres) to MET Norway's forecast service at api.met.no, at most every 15 minutes while Glassline runs. Like any web request, this also shows MET Norway your IP address. MET Norway's privacy policy covers what they do with it. Without a weather location, nothing is sent.
• Web searches you choose. When you pick the web result in Search, Glassline opens a Google search for that text in your browser. From then on it is your browser and Google at work, under their own policies.

What stays on your PC

• Settings, pinned apps and window colours are stored in your Windows user folder.
• Search looks through your apps, settings and files on your PC, using the Windows search index or Everything, if you have it. Your queries are not sent anywhere.
• Place names for the weather are looked up in a list built into the app, without going online.
• Notifications, calendar events, media and system status (Wi-Fi, sound, battery) are read from Windows only to show them to you, and are never stored or sent.
• Log files about Glassline's own errors stay on your PC. They are never uploaded.

Permissions

Windows asks you before Glassline can use your location, calendar or notifications, and Glassline only asks when you press something that needs it: "Use my location" for the weather, "Show networks" in the Wi-Fi list, or showing calendar events in Today. You can change these in Windows Settings under Privacy & security at any time.

Purchases

Glassline is sold through the Microsoft Store. Microsoft handles payment and your Microsoft account, and Glassline never sees your payment details.

Children

Glassline does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
